Three People Shot, Search for Suspect Underway in Fond du Lac

UPDATE #2: Police have confirmed that one of the victims has died from their injuries. The 20-year-old woman has died. Also, in a second press conference done by police, they corrected information given in the first press conference. It was reported that the victims were two women and a man. Police now say its one woman and two men.

UPDATE: Police are requesting citizens in the area of the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds the area to include – West of County Road V, North of Pioneer Road, East of Martin Ave. and South of 9th Street – to review any residential camera footage that may have captured any suspicious activity, to include any unknown individuals from May 7, 2023 6:50pm – 8:00pm. ORIGINAL STORY:

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a shooting which left three people injured. It happened Sunday afternoon in a parking lot of the Maplewood Commons Apartments on Martin Avenue. Police believe there was only one shooter, but say that person was with other people at the time. Authorities are now searching for them. Conditions of the three victims are not yet known. KFIZ News Director Doug Raflik is at the scene and will continue to provide updates and also post pictures later tonight.

This evening at approximately 6:50pm Fond du Lac County Dispatch center received multiple 911 calls for a shooting at the Maplewood Commons – near Martin Ave & East Pioneer Road. First responding Officers arrived within minutes and located 3 shooting victims. The victims were all transported to the hospital by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue, the status of those victims are unknown at this time.

The ages of the victims are –

• 20-year-old female

• 18-year-old female

• 49-year-old male

The suspects fled on foot from the area and they have not been located at this time. This is an active investigation and multiple agencies are assisting us in locating the suspects. Those include Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
