Three Vehicle Accident On I-41 Sends One To Hospital

A three-vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital, while shutting down part of I-41. FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out Friday afternoon at 3:35 p.m., for reports of a crash that occurred in the northbound lane of I-41, near Sales Rd. near Eldorado.

Traffic in the lane was slowing down for a previous accident near Cty. Rd. N, when a vehicle being operated by a 60-year old man from Cleveland, WI struck a truck being driven by a 28-year old male from Burlington, WI. That truck continued on I-41 heading north, where it ran into another truck being operated by a 30-year old male from Milwaukee. The driver of that truck was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh with minor injuries. All three operators of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the chain reaction was issued a citation for inattentive driving. Assistance at the scene was provided by Town of Eldorado Fire Department, North Fond du Lac Fire/EMS and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
