Tips Needed In FDL Shots Fired Investigation

Fond du Lac Police are hoping a tip will give them the lead they need to find out who was responsible for 16 different reports of shots fired the evening of Monday, February 12th. It started with a single report of shots fired in the 500 block of Fourth Street. Police Officer Erik Foster says detectives worked diligently on the investigation non-stop for a couple of days. He says, “Investigators were called in that evening worked through the night through the next day, still actively working on leads.  What I have right now is that there was a vehicle involved and may be a darker color and the gun is believed to be a handgun at this point.” Foster says the incident was the exception to the norm. He says, “You know it is pretty surprising to see especially in a small town like this. But we are going to get to the bottom of it and hopefully hold those responsible who are out there doing this because we have a safe community in Fond du Lac and we plan on keeping it that way.” Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call Detective Steve Kaufman at (920) 322-3725 or the crime alert number at 322-3740.
