Trailer For Fishing Shanty Needs Proper Lighting

A couple members of the Wisconsin State Patrol urge those who will be towing fishing shanties on trailers for the sturgeon spearing season to have those trailers properly wired up for travel on area roads. Inspector Scott Hlinak  says the trailers need to have operating brake lights, tail lights and directional lights. He says posting a slow moving vehicle emblem on the back of the trailer or shanty doesn’t cut it when it comes to the lighting requirement. Sergeant Luke Newman says your side mirrors also have to be long enough to see around the trailer and the shanty it is towing.
