Train Strikes Vehicle In Washington County

A 34-year-old Richfield man abandoned his pickup truck when it got stuck at a railroad crossing on Bark Lake Road Wednesday evening when he saw a train coming. A caller told authorities the train pushed the pickup north about 2,000 feet after hitting it.  When Washington County Sheriff’s deputies arrived the truck was fully engulfed in flames and was still attached to the front of the train. When the pickup’s driver was located he told investigators he disregarded the closed road sign where construction was being done on the railroad tracks. The man walked home after leaving the pickup.
