Trial Begins In Elmhdati Case

The jury was selected, opening statements were heard and the first wave of witnesses took the stand Monday as the trial of Mohamed G Elmhdati got underway at the FDL City County Government building. 


Elmhdati is facing charges of Armed Robbery and 1st Degree Reckless Injury. He also faces charges of 1st and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and aggravated battery with intent to cause great bodily harm.


We brought you the story back on February 26 of 2019. Elmhdati was involved in a verbal argument with a 25-year old man, near Lincoln and West Division St. The argument escalated and the 25-year-old man ended up with a gunshot wound to the leg. Elmhdati was taken into custody and held on $100,000 bond. The trial is expected to last at least 3 days.
