Trial Begins In Elmhdati Case

The jury was selected, opening statements were heard and the first wave of witnesses took the stand Monday as the trial of Mohamed G Elmhdati got underway at the FDL City County Government building. 

Elmhdati is facing charges of Armed Robbery and 1^st Degree Reckless Injury. He also faces charges of 1^st and 2^nd degree recklessly endangering safety and aggravated battery with intent to cause great bodily harm.

We brought you the story back on February 26 of 2019. Elmhdati was involved in a verbal argument with a 25-year old man, near Lincoln and West Division St. The argument escalated and the 25-year-old man ended up with a gunshot wound to the leg. Elmhdati was taken into custody and held on $100,000 bond. The trial is expected to last at least 3 days.
