Trial Delayed For Retired Slinger High School Band Director

The jury trial for a 67-year-old retired Slinger High School band director accused of sexual assault has been pushed back two months. David Hanke’s trial was originally scheduled to start February 26th, but now has been delayed until April 23rd. A Washington County prosecutor assisting in the prosecution wasn’t available for the original trial week. The victim also requested that the trial not be held in February. The victim alleges that Hanke had sexual contact with her when he invited her to his home back in 2000 when she was 16 or 17 years old.
