Trial Set for Man Accused of Fleeing from Dodge County Deputies

A Milwaukee man accused of running from police in Dodge County is heading to trial. 22-year old Javier McCants waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday. He faces felony Fleeing an Officer, along with several traffic citations. McCants was stopped by the State Patrol for speeding along Interstate 41 back in September – and troopers discovered his plates and title were expired. He then drove off as a tow truck pulled up to haul the car away. A pursuit reportedly hit speeds over 90-miles per hour, and was called off after two hours. He was later caught in Washington County. If convicted, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.
