Trooper Reminds Motorists To Go Slow In Ice And Snow

A Wisconsin State Trooper posted a public service announcement after his cruiser was hit from behind by another motorist while he was responding to an accident on 1-41 in Washington County Sunday. David Schmidt says he was in his cruiser protecting the crash scene and suffered a minor injury when his vehicle was struck from behind. He urges drivers to reduce their speed during inclement weather and move over for emergency vehicles. In his Facebook posting Trooper Schmidt says other troopers have not been as lucky as he was noting Wisconsin Trooper Justin Hansen lost his limbs in a January 2014 accident and Colorado Trooper Cody Donahue died in an accident late last month.
