Tuesday’s Turnout For State Supreme Court Race Surprising

Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg was pleased to see 15 percent of registered voters in the County turnout for this week’s primary election. She says that is the highest turnout at the polls for a February election in her time as clerk.  She says it was important because it narrowed down the field of candidates running for a seat on the State Supreme Court. She says, “We’ve already seen years were it is only 15 percent for an April election. People want their vote to count and that is what it is all about.” Only nine percent of registered voters in the County turned out last February for a statewide race for the State Superintendent of Schools race. A little over 7,900 voters in Fond du Lac County cast their ballots this past Tuesday.
