Turn Out The Camping Lights, The Party Is Over. For Now

Effective Tuesday afternoon, all campgrounds within Fond du Lac County have been ordered to close. That announcement was made by FDL County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller. Mueller says the closing decision was made for a number of reasons. Most notably, campgrounds, by nature, bring in a great many guests from outside of the county and the state. By bringing in more people, there is more pressure put on supplies and groceries from local stores. Being around campgrounds also increases the likelihood of large groups of people around bonfires and campers, which would violate the Safer At Home Order. Mueller says the current campground closing order will remain in effect at least until April 24, but could be extended further.
