Turner Will Remain In A Treatment Center

Gerald Turner will remain in a secure treatment center.

That was the ruling handed down in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court, where Turner was asking to be released from Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center.

Turner had been in prison for the October 31, 1973 Lisa French murder. The then 9-year old French had gone trick-or-treating in Turner’s neighborhood and never returned home. Her body was found alongside a road just outside of Fond du Lac.

Turner was originally in prison for almost 20 years before being released in 1994, and had been living in Dane County until having his parole revoked in 2013, sending him back to prison.

A request was made by Turner to send his case back to a Dane County Court with that request granted by Fond du Lac County Judge Robert Wirtz.

The state appealed and instead asked for the case to again be sent back to Fond du Lac County, with that request approved by an appeals court.

Gerald Turner is due back in court in late March.
