Two Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit in Fond du Lac County
Two people are now in custody following a high-speed pursuit in Fond du Lac County. Around 7:31pm Monday night, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed the vehicle going over 100 miles per hour along Interstate 41 near Highway 151. When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver ignored the lights and sped up.
The deputy pursued the vehicle into Dodge County – where tire deflation devices were successfully deployed by another deputy. The 27-year old Sussex man behind the wheel eventually stopped and was arrested on charges of felony eluding, recklessly endangering safety, and operating while under the influence. A 30-year old female passenger was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
The pursuit spanned about 12 miles and no injuries were reported – but uninvolved vehicle was unable to avoid the tire deflation devices and sustained tire damage.
