Two Charged For Scuffle With Sheriff’s Deputy

Bond was set at $20,000 cash for two Campbellsport men accused of struggling with a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy during a noise complaint. Both 22-year-old Colton O’Brien (above) and 19-year-old Tanner Gremminger (below) made initial court appearances Monday morning on charges stemming from the July 5th incident in the Town of Ashford. O’Brien allegedly hit the deputy in the face and body and tried to take his handgun from his holster. Gremminger took the deputy’s stun gun, but didn’t use it. Both men got away. Status conferences in the cases are set for 11 a.m. on July 23rd because neither has an attorney yet. District Attorney Eric Toney says preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on July 24th. Both hearings are before Judge Peter Grimm.
