Two Children Killed In Sheboygan Falls House Fire

Sadly a house fire in Sheboygan Falls has claimed the lives of two children.  A 9-year-old child was able to get out of the home in the 500 block of Western Avenue and get to a neighbor’s to ask for help. During a Wednesday morning press conference City Director of Public Safety Steve Riffel said the girl told police officers an 11-year-old child went back into the home to rescue others. Two children, ages 7 and 10-years-old, were still inside the burning home.  Firefighters were able to rescue the three children. Riffel says the 7-year-old died at St. Nicholas Hospital. The other two were flown to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee where the 11-year-old also died. A police officer who tried to enter the home suffered minor smoke inhalation.
