Two In Custody After Active Shooter Situation In Neenah

An active shooter situation in downtown Neenah is over. Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson said the scene is safe, and the community is no longer in danger. Wilkinson said one person and a police officer were injured, and the police officer is OK.

Two people were taken into custody, at Eagle Nation Cycles, on Doty Avenue. Police went there around 9 a.m., after reports of multiple gunshots. One victim was taken to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. A hospital spokeswoman said there aren’t any updates on the person’s condition.

SWAT officers had the shop surrounded for about three hours, before two people surrendered around 1 p.m., by walking out of the back of the business.

A witness told WHBY that the situation started Friday night, with a customer dispute over a bike. Alcohol may have been a factor, and the customer was apparently told to go home and “sleep it off.” The witness said the man returned Saturday morning, and opened fire in the shop.
