Two in Custody after High Speed Chase in FDL and Dodge Counties

Two men from Beaver Dam are in custody after a high-speed
chase that began in Fond du Lac County and ended in Dodge County early this
(Saturday) morning. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies first tried stopping vehicle
on Highway 26 in the Town of Springvale just before 2 A.M. because the car was
listed as stolen from the Madison area. On the initial stop, the driver of the
car surrendered to police, but the passenger then drove away with the car southbound
on Highway 26 at speeds reaching 130 miles per hour. The chase continued south onto
Highway 151, where Dodge County deputies successfully used tire deflation devices
to get the car to stop. The suspect tried to run from deputies but was arrested
after a short foot chase. The first driver, a 21-year-old man, was cited for operating
after suspension, while the second driver, a 20-year-old man, faces charges of
felony fleeing/eluding, operating a motor vehicle while impaired, operating
after revocation, reckless driving, possession of THC and speeding. The Waupun
Police Department also assisted in the pursuit.
