Two Killed Three Injured In Interstate 41 Accident

A 26-year-old man and 8-year-old boy from Neenah were killed and three others injured in a three vehicle accident on I-41 northbound south of State Highway 23 in Fond du Lac late Wednesday morning. The State Patrol says a 23-year-old Neenah woman driving a Chevy Cruze slowed to a stop for a semi and was struck from behind by Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says a passenger in the Jeep was thrown from it and was flown to ThedaCare in Neenah. That was a 35-year-old Eldorado man. The Neenah woman and a 32-year-old North Fond du Lac man driving the Jeep were taken by ambulance to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Chief O’Leary says to avoid driving the wrong way on Johnson Street or Highway 23; two paramedics went over the fence on the frontage road (Pioneer Road) and cut the fence open for responding vehicles. The man and boy who died at the scene were in the Chevy Cruze.

The accident was reported at 11:41 a.m. 

Law enforcement officials are dealing with a major accident on I-41 northbound south of Johnson Street. It happened about 11:45 a.m. and reportedly involved a semi and vehicle. Fond Du Lac County- June 22, 2016- Law enforcement is reporting that all NB lanes of I-41 at WIS 23 are blocked because of a crash. Alternate route: NB traffic will exit on Military Rd. West on Military Rd to Rolling Meadows Dr. North on Rolling Meadows Dr. to WIS 23. WIS 23 back to I-41. SB traffic will reverse these directions.
