Two Maintenance Projects on FDL-area Highways Begin Next Week

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced
two highway maintenance projects that will impact drivers in Fond du Lac County
next week.

The DOT says pavement repairs will close the southbound
off-ramp from Interstate 41 to County Highway D/Military Road starting at 6 AM
Monday through 4 pm on Thursday. Drivers looking to access Military Road from
Southbound I-41 are asked to use the Hickory Street exit, then return north on
I-41 to the Military Road exit.

Maintenance crews will be performing chip sealing on Highway
49 from County Highway MMM in the City of Waupun to Clark Street in the Village
of Brandon on Thursday and Friday between 5 AM and 6 PM. The project involves
laying the chip seal and sweeping on the first day, and sweeping and painting
the second day. Highway 49 will be open to traffic during the chip sealing,
with work being completed using lane closures and flagging operations. The DOT says
drivers should use extra caution while driving in the work zone, as chip sealing
may result in loose stones temporarily on the road that could cause damage.
