Two-Vehicle Accident Takes Life of Appleton Man, Injures FDL Woman

A Wednesday afternoon accident in Green Lake County has taken the life of one person.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office began receiving 911 calls Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at approximately 3:20pm regarding a two vehicle accident on STH 23 near CTH W.  

Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrived at 3:24pm and determined that one of the persons involved was deceased.  Berlin Ambulance Service and Princeton Fire Department arrived on scene moments later.

Initial investigation determined that a black Jeep SUV was heading west on Hwy. 23, when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound white Ford SUV head-on.  

The driver of the white Ford SUV was a 51 year old male from Appleton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The operator of the Jeep SUV was a 43 year old female from Fond Du Lac.  She was transported to Theda Care Berlin to be treated for her injuries.  

The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene to assist with the accident investigation and reconstruction.  STH 23 was detoured for 5 hours and reopened at 8:22pm.
