Two-Vehicle Crash Injures Four, One Person Arrested

Four people were injured and one person was arrested following a late Monday afternoon crash in Fond du Lac County.

Sheriff’s Deputies were called at 5:25 p.m. for reports of a two vehicle crash at Highway W and Woodland Dr. in the Town of Ashford. Preliminary investigation showed the two vehicles were traveling south together when one of the vehicles missed a turn and began to make a U-turn, when the trailing vehicle struck it. The driver took off from the scene on foot, which prompted officers to form a perimeter and begin a search.

With the help of a Sheriff’s Office drone equipped with thermal imaging, the suspect, a 20-year old Sheboygan man, was located in a wooded marsh, where he was taken into custody just before 6:20 p.m. He is being held at the FDL County Jail for OWI causing injury, resisting arrest, and a probation hold.

The four other occupants were transported to St. Agnes Hospital by Campbellsport Fire/EMS and City of Fond du Lac EMS for various minor injuries, but no further details were available this morning as to the extent of their injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

Assistance was also provided by Kewaskum EMS, Wisconsin DNR, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
