Unemployment Rate Drops in FDL, FDL County in September

Preliminary data from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce
Development shows the unemployment rate for both the City of Fond du Lac and Fond
du Lac County decreased in September. The DWD reports that unemployment rates
declined in all of Wisconsin’s 12 metro areas in the month of September, with
the biggest drop coming from Fond du Lac. Data shows the unemployment rate fell
six-tenths of a percent between August and September to 2.7 percent. That
number is still higher than the unemployment rate from a year ago, which stood
at 1.9 percent in September of 2018. The unemployment rate for the City of Fond
du Lac also fell in September. Preliminary data shows the unemployment rate for
the city fell nine-tenths of a percent to 2.9 percent in September. That number
is also higher compared to the 2018 rate, which was 2.1 percent.
