Unemployment Rate Sticks at Historic Low

The unemployment rate is sticking to a record-low for the second straight month in Wisconsin. Data released by the Department of Workforce Development shows the statewide rate held at 2.8% in May. Labor force participation rose one-tenth of a percent to 68.9% last month – with over three million people employed in the state. The state also added six hundred government jobs between May and April, but lost 5,300 private sector jobs overall.
