Unemployment Rates In FDL County Down Slightly In May Compared To 2021

The Fond du Lac area saw a decline of nearly a point in the unemployment rates in May of this year, compared to a year ago.

The latest information released Wednesday (6/22/2022) by the State of Wisconsin Workforce Development showed a May 2022 unemployment rate of 2.4% in the metropolitan Fond du Lac area, compared to 3.5% in May 2021.

The City of Fond du Lac also saw a sizeable decline in the unemployment rate, with a May rate of 2.6%, down from 4.1% in May of 2021. The May rate of 2022 was up slightly from April of 2022, when the rate in the City of Fond du Lac stood at 2.3%.

Fond du Lac County as a whole shows an unemployment rate of 2.4% in May 2022, compared to 3.5% in May of 2021.

Lafayette County had the lowest unemployment rate in May 2022, with a rate of 1.9%, while Menominee County had the highest unemployment rate at 7.0%
