United Youth Looking For Advisory Board Members

The Fond du Lac Area United Way would like to see more representatives on its advisory board for the United Youth program. It will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Each year the United Way and Fond du Lac Area Foundation team up to allocate $6,000 for grants to the program splitting that cost. The advisory board, which includes area high school students, then decides which programs should receive allocations. United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says that is a big responsibility for those youth. They decide whether a program targets youth and if it is impactful. She says they would like to get students representing high schools from Oakfield, Ripon and Waupun on the advisory board.
