Urban Hawk population on rise

Your backyard feeder is attracting more than just colorful song  birds. With winter in full swing, UW-Madison researchers are telling us the backyard bird feeders are creating a population boon for hawks. The new study out says the bird feeders in our backyards are one of the main reasons the urban hawk population is on the rise. Postdoctoral fellow Jennifer McCabe said predatory birds have a reliable hunting ground in the backyard thanks to bird feeders. The Woodland Hawk population, once declining, is now on the rebound thanks to the backyard bounty.
