UW-Health Voices Concern For Parents Of College-Aged Kids

It’s still up in the air for many school districts whether there are going to be in-person classes this fall. Dr. Jeff Pothoff with UW-Health says the real concern for many older parents will be if their college-age kids decide to go out and party and then try to come home.

“If you’re making decisions that would put you and then by extension our family at risk if you were to come home, we need to know about that. If you plan on going out to the bars, if you plan on gathering in large groups.”

Pothoff says that while it’s going to be harder to teach young students not to play with their friends, so far it seems like young kids don’t transmit COVID-19 the same way that adults do.
