UW-O Chancellor Leavitt Discusses Goals for University Over Next Five Years

It’s been five years on the job for UW-Oshkosh Chancellor
Andrew Leavitt. Leavitt was hired as the 11th Chancellor for the
university in November of 2014, and over the last few years has overseen the
addition of the two access campuses in Fond du Lac and the Fox Cities to the
UW-Oshkosh identity.

Leavitt tells us one of the main goals over the next five
years is to focus on new programs at both access campuses and at the main
campus in Oshkosh. “That’s something we need to look at to make sure our
program array is aligned with what employers need, and also what our students
need,” Leavitt said. “Certainly the emphasis on the adult learner is going to be
front-and-center, but it’s also our incredible partnerships with employers and
manufacturers and other kinds of commerce through internships.”

Leavitt says their goal is to become the “premier institution”
in the system for internships and use the many different companies in the Fox Valley
area to their advantage.
