UW-O Vaccination Center Works Through Challenges

The Culver FamilyWelcome Center in Oshkosh is the site of a community COVID-19 vaccination center on the UW-Oshkosh campus, and even though a “soft launch” of the center earlier this month went well, UW-O Chancellor Andrew Leavitt says they’re still working through some of the so-called bumps and bruises of getting the center fully operational.

“We just experienced one this week in that, because of the weather disruptions in the rest of the county, a lot of the vaccine that should have been delivered for this week is simply not here, and that we’re having to reschedule a lot appointments at this point but we want to make sure we can take care of everybody.”

The vaccination site is a partnership between the University, Advocate Aurora Health of Oshkosh and the Winnebago County Health Department.
