UW-Oshkosh Looks To Refund $5 Million To Students

Graduation Day for many college campuses is coming up in just a few short weeks. About the only thing that might take the sting out of not having an actual commencement program, could be the money that those seniors might see coming back to them, from their college. UW-Oshkosh is saying they will be handing out close to $5 million in refunds to students for housing and food contracts.

According to UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt, the refunds being directed to students from all of the UW System schools, is the right thing to do, it needed to be done, but it will also “hit UW-O hard.” The refunds come at a time when the UW System is already facing revenue challenges due to enrollment drops. Overall, the UW-System expects to lose around $78 million due to the campus shutdowns.
