UW-Oshkosh Professor to Ride Bike Across the State for Scholarships

A UW-Oshkosh professor will be completing a bike ride
across Wisconsin in support of student scholarships. Dan Schmidt is the head of
the UW-Oshkosh Kinesiology Department, and has spent the summer getting ready
for the 160-mile bike ride – known as the “Schmidt Don’t Quit Scholarship Ride” – which begins September 1st in La Crosse
and concludes September 3rd on the UW-O campus. The campus community
is invited to run the last mile of the ride with Schmidt, and join In a
celebration at 2 pm on the third at the UW-O Student Recreation and Wellness
Center. Schmidt began working at Oshkosh in 1997, and said the idea to do a
fundraising ride combines his personal enjoyment of biking with his commitment
to supporting students at UW-Oshkosh.
