UWO Foundation Considers Bankruptcy Claim

The UW-Oshkosh Foundation is considering filing for bankruptcy protection. A civil suit recently exposed two former UW-Oshkosh officials for funneling funds into the Foundation to pay for five projects. The Foundation doesn’t have enough money to cover $14.5 million in debt. The Foundation is a non-profit entity that supports university programs and initiatives. Former UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells and Chief Business Officer Tom Sonnleiter allegedly transferred $11.3 million in funds into the Foundation to pay for the five projects.
