Van Stolen In FDL With Child In It

Fond du Lac Police are looking for a Hispanic man who stole a van from the Shopko Store on West Johnson Street with a 9-year-old boy in it. It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police Captain Pat McKeough says the man didn’t realize the child was in the back of the van. The boy was dropped off in the area of Military Road and Seymour Street. He had a cell phone and called his father who picked him up. The thief did not threaten the boy. McKeough says they are still looking for the stolen van. He says it is a silver-colored 2002 Chrysler Town and County Van with a Wisconsin License Plate of “IAMOOC.” McKeough says the woman her son in the van with the keys in the ignition and apparently didn’t intend to be in the store that long.  He says the suspect in his early 20’s, with short hair on top and shorter on the sides. He has tattoos on both arms specifically in the area of the right forearm and back of the right hand. He was wearing a black t-shirt, long black shorts and brown work boots.
