Vehicle Fire Causes Damage to Buildings in FDL

A vehicle fire spread and caused damage to multiple
buildings in the City of Fond du Lac Saturday evening. Fond du Lac Fire and
Rescue was called to a home in the 400 block of 4^th Street for the
fire just after 6pm. Upon arrival, crews found that the fire and heat from the
vehicle had spread to the home and garage and had melted the siding on a home
next door to the scene. The vehicle’s owner tried to put out the fire prior to the
fire department arriving on scene, but was unsuccessful. Fire crews were able
to extinguish the fire to prevent any further damage. No injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have been caused by careless use of smoking materials.
