Vintage Cars And Rock And Roll At THELMA

Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) announced they are teaming up with Classics Plus and two bands to bring Vintage Cars and Rock ‘n Roll to downtown Fond du Lac, Saturday, July 16.

Sheboygan Street from Portland to Marr streets will be closed to traffic for the day as Classics Plus lines the streets with its impressive inventory. Cars will be in place and a cash bar will open at 3 pm. Chameleon Food Truck will also be there.

A rockabilly favorite, the Kevin Fayte Trio will begin performing on THELMA’s outdoor Plaza at 5 pm. There is no admission for the car show and the concert on the Plaza.

The finale is a concert with The Bel Airs in the Great Hall at 8 pm. The Bel Airs, making their first appearance at THELMA, are an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin’ Wolf and Johnny Cash.

There is an admission for this performance. Tickets may be purchased at thelmaarts.org or calling 920.921.5410. Doors and the bar will open at 7 pm.

The concerts at THELMA are sponsored by First Weber/Winfield Homes, The Goldsmith, and the Wisconsin Arts Board at the Platinum Level; and Uecker Witt Funeral Home and Culver’s Restaurants at the Gold Level; and the Brothers Flader and Jill Stenson at the Silver Level.

Vintage Cars and Rock ‘n Roll at THELMA is the same weekend as one of the largest vintage racing events in the United States. This event at Road America features over 400 cars competing in several groups.

THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and Entertainment District.
