Violent Sex Offender Could Be Placed In FDL County

Fond du Lac County residents will find themselves once again battling the placement of a violent sex offender. The state’s Department of Health Services has been unable to find a suitable place in Washington County for 61-year-old Terry Olson. Judge Andrew Gonring issued an order this week that the state Department of Health Services should attempt to find a suitable location in Fond du Lac County for him. DHS found a location for Olson in the Town of Eldorado about a year ago, but placement was not made. Olson was convicted of 1st Degree Sexual Assault and Second Degree Sexual Assault in Washington County in 1990. He was declared a sexually violent person in 2003 and has been at the Sand Ridge Treatment Facility in Juneau County since then, but is eligible for release to an appropriate site.
