Vos Says No One Talking About Ballot Drop Boxes

Don’t ask him about absentee ballot drop boxes. Assembly Speaker says no one besides Madison-based media is talking about the issue.

“People talk about crime. We see that just this last weekend, who would have thought that . . . five or six people were found dead execution style in Milwaukee. That should be an outrage for every single person, and that should be what we’re focused on. We should also focus on the fact that we have this huge budget surplus, and we’re going to be able to do a massive tax cut. God willing we’re going to be able to come back next session with a different governor.”

The Republican leader deflected from questions prior to an Assembly floor session focused on bills to support law enforcement. A bill from Republican state Senator Kathy Bernier would have allow communities to have no more than four ballot drop boxes. Bernier told the Journal Sentinal she’ll likely remove that language from the bill, after opposition from Vos and former President Donald Trump.
