Walker Appointees Approved

The Wisconsin Senate approved 82 appointees made by outgoing
Republican Governor Scott Walker. Those appointees were approved on a
party-line vote. Democratic senators objected, as did Democratic Governor-elect
Tony Evers in a letter he submitted minutes before the Senate took the
appointments up for discussion. Those appointees include Scott Beightol to the
UW-System Board of Regents and one of Walker’s
top aides, Ellen Nowak, to a position on the state Public Service Commission.
