Walker Pushes State to Revoke Professional Licenses of Former Priests

Governor Scott Walker is pushing state officials to revoke
the licenses of four former priests who were defrocked for sexually abusing
children. Those priests served in the Milwaukee Archdiocese and reportedly
earned state licenses after being forced out – gaining jobs in social work,
nursing, alcohol and drug counseling, and funeral home work.

The Survivors
Network of those Abused by Priests is urging Walker to call for an investigation into how
they were able to get state approval to work in those professions. Thursday,
state regulators lodged complaints against them and the governor expressed his
opinion that they should lose those licenses.
