Walker Still Working to Keep Kimberly-Clark Facility Open

Governor Scott Walker says he’s doing everything in his
power to save a Kimberly-Clark factory and about 300 jobs after a tax incentive
bill failed to pass the Legislature.

Walker
claims saving the factory is his top priority before leaving office, and hopes
he can announce a plan in the coming days. He is working with the state’s
economic development agency on a proposal that may not need legislative
approval.

Kimberly-Clark officials have said they will close the plant without
the earlier proposed tax incentives, which were estimated to land around $100
million.
