Washington County Accidents Involve Sixty Vehicles

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a chain reaction, multi-unit crash Monday morning on Interstate 41 in the Town of Polk. There were approximately 30 vehicles directly involved in the crash and in the immediate vicinity there were an additional 30 vehicles that wound up off the roadway in the ditch or median as a result of the multi-unit crash. There were five people transported to area hospitals, all with non-life threatening injuries. Officials responded to 97 crash related calls involving an estimated 300 units between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
