Washington County Focused Traffic Patrol Nets Homicide Suspect And Drugs

On August 9, 2022, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department partnered with the Washington County Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force, the Germantown Police Department, and the Hartford Police Department to conduct a focused patrol.

A total of 75 traffic stops were made and 17 vehicles were searched based upon probable cause of criminal activity according to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday.

Washington County Sheriff Martin R. Schulteis said, “Most of this directed patrol operation took place on Interstate 41 which runs diagonally across all of Washington County. This snapshot of criminal activity illustrates the disturbing trend ranging from the apprehension of a dangerous homicide suspect to drug dealers bringing poison into our communities.”

During the operation, A Washington County deputy stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation.

A passenger was removed from the vehicle after continually providing a false name.

The driver of the vehicle then fled in the vehicle. Deputies pursued the vehicle for approximately 3.2 miles until the suspect came across deputies waiting to place tire deflation devices to stop the pursuit.

The passenger was identified as a female from Milwaukee with an active arrest warrant for homicide. She was taken to jail on charges of obstructing, possession of cocaine, and possession drug paraphernalia.

The driver, a Milwaukee woman, was taken into custody for charges of fleeing, possession of cocaine, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Hartford police officer attempted to stop a female in a vehicle. She failed to stop and a pursuit took place covering a distance of approximately 4.5 miles.

She finally stopped when officers attempted to place tire deflation devices to end the pursuit. Eluding charges were requested.

Deputies were initiating a traffic stop on vehicle. While stopping, the passenger threw an object out of the window, which was later discovered to be cocaine.

Cocaine and THC were located during the subsequent search.

A Cudahy man was arrested for the contraband and charges were requested.

A Washington County deputy stopped a vehicle for improper display of registration. A deputy observed one of the occupants of the vehicle concealing an item in the seat.

A search was conducted and two men from Oshkosh were arrested, one for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, and possession with intent to deliver narcotics. The second was arrested for bail jumping and possession of cocaine.

Upon entry to the jail, more drugs were found on the second male. Additional charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine were requested.

A Washington County deputy stopped a vehicle for a lighting violation.

A search yielded cocaine and the Slinger man was arrested for possession.

Deputies stopped a vehicle and conducted a probable cause search. Methamphetamine was located and a woman and man from Oshkosh were arrested for possession.

The woman was later found to be in possession of fentanyl.
