Washington County Officials Deal With Knife Wielding Man Threatening People

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Town of Addison residence Thursday night at 9:24 p.m. for a report of a man armed with a knife attempting to stab multiple people.

Responding deputies observed the man holding a knife near a female in an enclosed porch.

The man retreated into the main portion of the house and the female was able to escape the house. She had several minor defensive knife wounds and strangulation marks on her neck.

Deputies set up a perimeter on the home with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol well as mutual aid assistance from West Bend Police who assisted with interpretation and negotiations due to a language barrier with the suspect.

Law enforcement made verbal contact with the 20-year-old suspect who told interpreters, he wanted police to kill him. He said No one is leaving this house alive and he continued to brandish several knives within the home.

It was determined that two additional victims had barricaded themselves inside the home, in separate bedrooms, to protect themselves from the man.

Due to the potential hostage situation, the Washington County SWAT team responded.

Ultimately the subject failed to comply with orders, and emergency entry was made by SWAT.

The man jumped from a second-story window and fled on foot but was taken into custody in a field northeast of the residence after a brief foot pursuit.

The suspect has no direct ties to any of the residents of the home and is originally from Nicaragua. He currently resides in Chicago, but his immigration status is currently under investigation.
