Washington County Woman Arrested for OWI After Sunday Night Crash

A woman from Washington County is facing OWI charges after authorities
say she overdosed on heroin or prescription medication while driving and
crashed in the Town of Polk Sunday night. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the
scene at Highway 45 and Pleasant Valley Road just after 11 pm. Investigators
say both the driver – a 50-year-old woman from the Town of Wayne – and
passenger – a 35-year-old man from Slinger – had recently taken drugs before
the crash.

The man reportedly had the woman exit on Pleasant Valley
Road when he noticed she had become unresponsive and couldn’t control the vehicle.
The man could not get the woman to take her foot off the accelerator, and the
car went through the intersection at highway speeds and flipped into the ditch.
Emergency responders administered Narcan to revive the woman. She was then transported
to Froedert Hospital by Flight for Life and arrested for first offense OWI and
OWI causing injury.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says this incident
is an example of one of five arrests for OWI their deputies made this weekend.
