Waupun Man Faces Felony Charge

A Waupun man could face up to six years in prison as a result of a December 13th incident in Beaver Dam. 23-year old Reyes Gomez faces a felony count following an arrest for an OWI and making violent threats directed at a sheriff’s deputy. Gomez was allegedly operating one of two vehicles that were reported as “suspicious” in nature on Frances Lane in the Town of Beaver Dam on the 13th, about 3:00 a.m. Deputies administered a breath test, which came back with a reading of .079, which was under the legal limit. But Gomez struggled with the field sobriety test and also had difficulty speaking. Gomez then made the threats while being transported to the jail. Bond was set at $1,000 and now Gomez will wait to see what a judge says next month, on whether there is enough evidence to order a trial.
