Waupun Man Records Two Million Consecutive Accident Free Miles

A Waupun man achieved a truck driving safety milestone when he recently recorded 2 million consecutive miles of safe driving. Mike Schafer drives for Con-way Freight in Fond du Lac. Mike has been a truck driver for 39 years, the past 27 years with Con-way. He has been a member of the President’s Safe Driver Club for the past 13 years, a group designated for Wisconsin’s safest truck drivers. Two million consecutive miles of safe driving is equivalent to driving around the world approximately 80 times. Mike’s family was with him at Con-way Freight in Fond du Lac Monday when he was presented with a plaque, ring, cake and personal parking space.
