Waupun Man Sentenced To Prison For Child Enticement

A 44-year-old Waupun man has been sentenced to six years in prison and six years of extended supervision on charges of child enticement and causing a child under 13 years of age to view or listen to a sex act. Judge Gary Sharpe sentenced Michael LaFond this week in Fond du Lac County Court. Three other charges were read into the record and dismissed and another of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion. That last charge stemmed from an incident at LaFond’s home in January of 2016. Waupun Police had gone there to get a piece of evidence a case they were investigating. They encountered LaFond in a corridor of the ranch-style home holding a revolver to his head and a semi-automatic pistol at his side. He ended up turning the guns over to the officers.
