Waupun Man To Serve 3 Years In Prison On Child Porn Charges

A Waupun man was sentenced Tuesday (1/18/2022) in Dodge County Court.

Wade Carrier, 36, was sentenced by Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Kristine Snow to three years of prison followed by ten years of extended supervision for three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

On July 27, 2020, Waupun Police received notification from the Department of Justice regarding child pornography that was uploaded to Dropbox.

A review of the Dropbox material uncovered 611 files that contained sexually explicit content, many of the images consistent with child pornography.

A search warrant for the subscriber information led them to a house where Wade Carrier resided.  Carrier initially stated that he had clicked on links that were sent to him, but those links contained what he called appropriate porn.  Later, Carrier admitted that there was some child pornography, but he tried to delete it.

The state recommended a fifteen year prison sentence: five years of initial confinement followed by ten years of extended supervision.
