Waupun Man Who Dragged Sheriffs Lieutenant Pleads To Charge

The 23-year-old Waupun man who dragged a Dodge County Sheriff’s lieutenant at the beginning of a vehicle chase last March has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Matthew Ellcey pled no contest to a felony charge of obstructing an officer resulting in bodily harm when he was in Dodge County Court Monday. A second felony charge was read into the record and dismissed. He will be sentenced on September 21st. During the March 21st incident the lieutenant put his hand inside Ellcey’s vehicle trying to prevent him from taking off during a traffic stop on Highway 49.
