Waupun Men Federally Indicted on Bank Robbery Charges

Two men from Waupun have been federally indicted for
their involvement in three armed bank robberies in the state. 36-year-old
Justin Smith and 35-year-old William Balgie have been charged with committing
robberies at the National Exchange Bank and Trust in Allenton on April 8th,
the Cornerstone Bank in Menomonee Falls on June 17th and the
National Exchange Bank and Trust in Glenbeulah on August 8th. If
convicted, each man faces up to 25 years in prison on each armed robbery
count. The FBI’s Milwaukee Area Violent Crimes Task Force, a number of police
departments and sheriff’s offices, and the District Attorney’s Offices in
Sheboygan, Washington and Waukesha Counties are all investigating the case
